About the event
The Statewide Museum Collections Center is a working collections management facility and its “open storage” concept allows tour participants to go behind the scenes for a close-up look at the diversity of materials acquired by cultural specialists throughout the state and how these historic objects are stored and preserved. The tour will start in our public exhibit area and take visitors through our collections processing rooms and 120,000 sq. ft. collections vault. Tour may also include the Department Archives and Archaeology Lab, as staffing permits; tour stops are subject to change.

o Bag/backpack storage is limited and large bags are not permitted.
o Taking pictures or videos is only allowed the Lobby Exhibit. Taking pictures or video is not allowed in any other location in the building.
