About the event
The Pacific Central District of Optimist International and Folsom History invite you for a talk with Irene Perbal to tell her account of living under Nazi Rule and how her journey from the Netherlands to Brazil, Africa and the United States have shaped her perspective. Irene has been a member of the Rotary Club of Jackson, CA since May 2006, was a Past President 2015-16, past International Service District Chair 2016-2018. Fluent in 6 languages, this independent thinker is a survivor of the Nazi occupation in Amsterdam and is determined to tell her extraordinary story and message of peace, hope and optimism, a message much needed to be heard today.
