Working the Land

Service Description

What features play into where people settle and how they live? Through this investigation, students discover the importance of resources. Using maps and tools, students stake a claim in the gold fields, find a spot to farm the land, and choose a site to build a hotel for travelers. Students leave with gold panning finds, a starter garden, and a plan for their town. Grades: 2-3
